The North Central Planning Council serves a six county area known as Region III. These six counties are Benson, Cavalier, Eddy, Ramsey, Rolette and Towner. NCPC was started in 1972 and is a non-profit corporation organized under State Statue 54-40 of the North Dakota Century Code.
North Central Planning Council exists in order to better coordinate and facilitate the provision of economic and social opportunities for residents within Region III.
The NCPC Board of Directors is comprised of Representatives from each county commission, count seat, soil conservation district, Spirit Lake Tribe, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and private sector representatives.
North Central Planning Council serves as the principal development agency for the Region III six county area. The council works with organized city and county governments and economic development professionals to provide financial and planning resources for economic, infrastructure and housing development.
In addition the council is often called upon either to provide or to arrange for the provision of those services that other public organizations do not provide.
